My research integrates data visualization, artificial intelligence, and human-AI interaction to develop data analysis and visualization techniques and systems that enhance understanding and decision-making for complex societal issues and human behaviors.

Odalis Tavares

My research involves the Successful Start: Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) project which provides mathematics professional development to Hillsborough County teachers serving students in grades VPK to 3rd grade. The CGI program that will be provided to teachers during the Successful Start: Cognitively Guided Instruction project is based on an Evidence-Based CGI program that meets the What Works Clearinghouse standards for moderate evidence of effectiveness.

Marissa Sweeny

My research explores early childhood and intergenerational art education, community-based, museum and out-of-school art education, postdevelopmental and critical childhood studies, digital media and visual culture in childhood, and motherscholarship and feminist pedagogies.

Kayla Stoy

I study the evolution and ecology of beneficial host-microbe interactions. I am interested in understanding how these associations persist in complex, species-rich environments. 

Fariba Siddiq

My research focuses on transportation policy and planning to inform policy and practice for equitable and resilient transportation systems and cities in the USA and globally. My teaching interests include quantitative methods, spatial analytics, data science, and transportation planning. 

James Shuls

My research focuses on education policy, with an emphasis on civics and character education, school choice, education finance, teacher labor markets, and the philosophical foundations of education reform. My work explores how policy decisions impact educational outcomes and expand opportunities for students and families.

Christopher Schoborg

My independent research focuses on sports analytics and using advanced machine learning techniques to look at new insightful ways of exploring current analytical questions for major sports in the US. As a researcher for FSU, I leverage data and analytics to explore areas of undiscovered faculty development.
