Dr. Miley's research focuses on two areas within healthcare including patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and injury prevention. Dr Miley seeks to leverage large data to assess the psychometric properties of PROs in healthcare as well as understand how manual therapy interventions can be used to restore normal movement patterns within the healthy, active population.
Dr. Thompson’s teaching experience includes a range of theoretical and methodological courses in Applied Linguistics. Dr. Thompson’s research interests focus on Individual Differences in Second Language Acquisition (IDs in SLA) and the interaction of these IDs and multilingualism, as well as inquiries into linguistic racism and gender in higher education.
Dr. LaPoint’s research interest centers on community-partnered research exploring the experiences of autistic transition-age youth and adults.
Dr. Tawfiq’s teaching interests focus on fostering critical thinking and encouraging active learning through interactive and collaborative classroom experiences, incorporating technology to enhance learning.
Dr. Peluso’s research focuses on a multi-year study of the quality of the therapeutic relationship using observational coding of verbal and non-verbal behavior and using dynamical systems mathematics to model the relationship quality. In addition, Dr. Peluso runs an international study on the effectiveness of couples therapy for the treatment of couples dealing with infidelity.
Dr. Li’s research interests focus on children’s self-regulation, social-emotional development, health behaviors (e.g., sleep, screen use), parent-child coregulation, interactions, and relationships, as well as quantitative methods.
Dr. Wilson’s teaching and research interests include trauma and trauma-informed practices, supporting K-12 students with disabilities, and mental health challenges in the K-12 school setting.
