The ultimate goal of our research is to gain a deeper understanding of how the neural correlates of cognitive decline in aging, with the long-term aim of developing strategies to mitigate cognitive deterioration in older age. We employ advanced, state-of-the-art methods, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), to map the structural and functional properties of the aging brain.

Julia Steiner

I have a deep curiosity about biology and exploring the cellular and molecular mechanisms that drive life. I also have a passion for teaching, aiming to inspire students to explore, question and learn about the living world.

Sukesh Babu Myneni

My area of research is electrical insulation system design and characterization for electrified transportation and power-grid applications, with a focus on high-voltage engineering aspects such as: partial discharge diagnostics and inception modeling, space charge measurements, aging and life modeling under AC, DC, and PWM stresses, considering variable environmental conditions such as temperature, pressure, and humidity.

Phillip Worts

Although I serve in a research administration role support clinical and health research, my previous research focused on the following areas: concussion, sports medicine, orthopedics, mental health, chronic pain, sports science, and therapeutic exercise.

Brooke Solz

My research interests are rural education, school leadership, pre-service teacher preparation in reading, and best practices for foundational reading instruction.

Kaela Byers

My scholarship focuses on child, family, and community well-being, specifically addressing structural and systems-level issues that impact social determinants of health through community-engaged methods.
