I use structural biology to understand the immune evasion mechanisms of the HIV-1 virus. My research also involves developing therapeutics aimed at eradicating HIV infections and curing the disease.

My research is focused on the development of the next generation "smart drugs" for treatment of neurogenerative diseases.

My research group studies the role of nutrition and metabolism, birth defects and chronic diseases.

The Mousa Laboratory studies antibody responses, both structurally and functionally, to natural infection and vaccination to develop new antibody therapeutics and epitope-focused vaccines.
