My research focuses on developing intelligent mobile and wearable technologies that help us better understand human behavior, support health and well-being, and improve daily interactions. I aim to create practical systems that respond to real-world needs in areas like mobile health, human-computer interaction, and personal privacy.

My research in machine learning and data science tackles technical and practical challenges faced by forecasting systems amidst the increasing dynamism and complexity of societal environments. 

My research integrates data visualization, artificial intelligence, and human-AI interaction to develop data analysis and visualization techniques and systems that enhance understanding and decision-making for complex societal issues and human behaviors.

My research explores computer security, computer systems and architecture, and AI for systems and security.

Dr. Mithila’s research interests include Cloud Computing, Software Engineering, Cryptography, Geographic Information System (GIS) Programming, Geospatial Analysis and Web Development.

Dr. Li’s research interests include Artificial Intelligence for Science, Bayesian machine learning, approximate inference, data-driven scientific simulations.
