Shu Liu

My research focuses on applied mathematics, particularly on developing efficient and scalable numerical methods for a broad range of scientific computing problems with provable accuracy guarantees. I am also interested in leveraging machine learning techniques to address challenges in computational mathematics.

Yang Liu

My research focuses on developing intelligent mobile and wearable technologies that help us better understand human behavior, support health and well-being, and improve daily interactions. I aim to create practical systems that respond to real-world needs in areas like mobile health, human-computer interaction, and personal privacy.

Songgaojun Deng

My research in machine learning and data science tackles technical and practical challenges faced by forecasting systems amidst the increasing dynamism and complexity of societal environments.

Kevin Little

My goal is to create a fun and supportive classroom that encourages students to grow an appreciation for the inner workings of the world around them through research-backed pedagogy.

Bürge Abiral

I study how communities respond to environmental and economic challenges through collective efforts in sustainable food systems and alternative economies, with a focus on Turkey. My teaching explores the intersections of environment, economy, food, social movements, and gender, alongside introductory courses in anthropology.

Alireza Salami

The ultimate goal of our research is to gain a deeper understanding of how the neural correlates of cognitive decline in aging, with the long-term aim of developing strategies to mitigate cognitive deterioration in older age. We employ advanced, state-of-the-art methods, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), to map the structural and functional properties of the aging brain.
