I study how communities respond to environmental and economic challenges through collective efforts in sustainable food systems and alternative economies, with a focus on Turkey. My teaching explores the intersections of environment, economy, food, social movements, and gender, alongside introductory courses in anthropology.

François Dengah

Dr. Dengah is a cognitive and medical anthropologist studying the role that cultural norms play in the creation of psychosocial stress. Dr. Dengah’s research has included Brazilians, video gamers, and various religious communities.

Anna Cohen

Dr. Cohen’s research interests include human-environmental interactions and ancient urbanism via remote sensing and pottery analyses in Latin America.
