Faculty Award Mentors

Applications Due August 15

If you are faculty member or an administrator at FSU, the Office of Faculty Recognition asks you to consider serving as a Faculty Award Mentor for 2012-13.  Certainly, a faculty mentor can be effective in all areas and stages of career development and support, but OFR has an immediate need for a network of professionals engaged with faculty work who can have a single focus:  locating and highlighting to OFR award-worthy work being done by FSU faculty.

As a Faculty Award Mentor, you would be asked to make a concerted effort to do the following:

  1. Become aware of the most successful teaching in your college;
  2. Understand the significance of cutting edge or discipline shaping research being done by FSU faculty in your college;
  3. Learn about which FSU faculty are national leaders in service to their discipline and/or professional organization;
  4. Report all these successes and potential award winners to the Office of Faculty Recognition.

There will be a training session for those willing to serve as Faculty Award Mentors on Thursday, August 23 from 12:00 – 2:00.  If you are interested, please call 645-8202 or email mwrightc@fsu.edu to register.
