NSF select four FSU faculty for CAREER awards

Sachin Shanbhag, Oskar Vafek, Karen McGinnis, and Michael Shatruk have been selected by the National Science Foundation to receive CAREER awards. The award is given "in support of junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education and the integration of education and research within the context of the mission of their organizations."

CIES recognizes Dr. Patricia Martin's contribution

CIES has recently acknowledged Dr. Martin for her contributions to the Fulbright Scholar Program. Dr. Martin states, "I enjoyed doing the reviews. Irene Zanini-Cordi awarded NEH Fellowship

Irene Zanini-Cordi, Professor of Italian, has been awarded an NEH Fellowship for 2010-2011. Her work focuses on Italian literature, and she will use the fellowship to conduct research for a new book, "Fashioning Italian Women, Fashioning a Nation: Sociability and Women's Identity (1780s-1860s)."
